Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola is probably the best known cola beverage in the World.It was created in 1886 by an Atlanta pharmacist, John S. Pemberton(1831-88), at his Pemberton Chemical Company, originally based oncocaine from the coca leaf and caffeine-rich extracts of the colanut.

Today, the coca and cola extracts have been removed, and artificialflavorings are used instead. Other ingredients are sugar (corn syrupare used in some parts of the world), caramel coloring, water andphosphoric or citric acid.

The Coca-Cola is used as a mixer in the bar, and several famousrecipes use it as a main ingredient. Without it, drinks like theLong Island Iced Tea and Rum and Coke would notexist.
